Little Harwood War Memorial
An Idea
It was the Postmistress of Little Harwood who first suggest that there should be a memorial to the men of the district who had been killed fighting in the First World War.
George Hindle's Parents join the Memorial Committee.
George's parents supported this idea and joined the memorial committee, A clock tower was to be the memorial and on its sides would be placed the names of those men from Little Harwood who had fallen in battle.
The Clock Tower is completed
On the 11th August 1923 the Little Harwood Clock Tower War Memorial was unveiled. The proceedings were filmed and shown later at the nearby Star cinema.
